What is MassHealth?

MassHealth is the Federal Medicaid program operating in Massachusetts.  If qualified, Program benefits cover the majority of costs for an individual living in a Nursing Home.  In order to qualify, an application must be filed with the Massachusetts Division of Medical Assistance (DMA) which makes the eligibility decision.

Will I qualify for MassHealth Benefits?

ElderSource will assist you and/or your family to meet the program requirements for MassHealth.  We will educate you about the MassHealth regulations so that you can understand the program requirements and what must be done in order to qualify for benefits.  We will explain what is allowed by MassHealth and the program terminology such as "spend down", "gifting", "transfers", and others.

Applying for MassHealth Benefits

The application process to become eligible for benefits can be complex, confusing and overwhelming.  In order to determine eligibility, the DMA requires a variety of financial and other information on each individual. ElderSource will work with you through the entire application process to ensure that the individual meets all technical and financial requirements and ultimately to become qualified for benefits.
